What a journey it has been to write a book.  I thought this book would be about my life growing up and maybe about goal setting and how I got to where I am.  I didn’t realize that the book would take on a life of its own, as I became more vulnerable and real in sharing my story in I Meant it for Good: A Memoir of Dreaming, Visualizing, and Becoming My Authentic Self.

I started out by documenting what was happening to me, as I fell through the cracks in the medical system.  And from there I journaled as synchronicities showed up that would lead me to new doctors and integrative cancer treatments.  This journaling would become the starting point for the blogs on my website and from there the basis for my book.

When hearing the words, “you have cancer,” I was in shock and then went through the whole gamut of emotions.  For me, it became a total surrender, a belief that I would be healed.  I decided that I’d been through many journeys in life and that God had always walked alongside me or led me when I needed it the most.  Cancer would be yet another journey.

I have always been a storyteller, so the next step was to go back and write about the stories that have made me the person I am today.

The book was written during a time when I was still very sick and there were days that the book seemed to write itself.  As we drove to Chicago for treatments, while I was still so horribly ill and could not stand any noise and commotion, I would wrap up in a blanket, put on my headphones and listen to music that would drown out the sights and the sounds of the traffic.  It was during those times I would sit with my lap-top and journal what was happening to me and later to write yet another chapter in my book.

This book is ultimately about my journey through life, how I grew up, the challenges I faced, and how I learned to set goals and to believe in myself and God.

My vision is to share my story with the hope of helping other people to know they have options and can choose what is right for themselves: to set their own goals and visualize both physical and spiritual healing.

You can read more about my book, I Meant It for Good: A Memoir of Dreaming, Visualizing, and Becoming My Authentic Self on this page.  The book will be released March 15, 2020 and can be pre-ordered on Amazon.
